Specialist Learning Programs enrich the curriculum by providing students with opportunities to explore their interests, discover their unique gifts and develop the knowledge, skills and dispositions to flourish in a changing world. Our Specialist Learning Programs are aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and complement classroom learning by providing authentic opportunities for students to learn, create, perform, communicate and grow.
Our specialist teachers design engaging, evidence-informed learning experiences that encourage students to actively participate, develop new skills and apply their learning in authentic contexts. Learning is carefully sequenced from Prep to Year 6, enabling students to progressively build knowledge, confidence and capability across each specialist learning area.
Learning extends beyond weekly specialist lessons through a variety of enriching experiences including performances, sporting events, cultural celebrations and whole-school activities that foster belonging, participation and school spirit. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves, collaborate with others and apply their learning in meaningful ways.
Physical Education empowers students to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to lead active, healthy and balanced lives. Through movement, games and sport, students build physical competence, resilience, teamwork and an appreciation of lifelong participation in physical activity.
Students experience Physical Education through:
developing fundamental movement skills
participating in individual and team activities
building teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship
learning about health, wellbeing and active lifestyles
participating in athletics, cross country and swimming carnivals
representing the school through interschool sport opportunities in Years 5 and 6.
Through these experiences, students develop confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards physical activity while learning the value of teamwork, perseverance and personal wellbeing.
Performing Arts empowers students to express themselves creatively while developing confidence, collaboration and communication. Through music, drama and dance, students explore ideas, celebrate creativity and develop an appreciation of the performing arts.
Students experience Performing Arts through:

dance and creative performance
rehearsing and performing for authentic audiences
collaborating creatively with others
celebrating learning through performances and whole-school events.
Through these experiences, students develop confidence, imagination and creativity while learning to communicate, collaborate and express themselves through the arts.
Digital Technologies equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to participate successfully in an increasingly connected world. Students develop computational thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills while learning to use technology safely, ethically and responsibly.
Students experience Digital Technologies through:

applying technology to support learning across the curriculum.

Japanese empowers students to communicate across cultures while developing curiosity, respect and global understanding. Through language learning and cultural experiences, students broaden their perspectives and develop an appreciation of the richness and diversity of our world.
