Living Faith with Creativity and Kindness
Acutis House is inspired by Blessed Carlo Acutis, a young role model of faith, kindness and creativity. Born in 1991, Carlo lived a short but remarkable life, passing away at the age of 15, yet leaving a lasting legacy of faith, service and hope.
Carlo loved computers, technology and animals, and believed his gifts could be used to serve others and share the Gospel. His most well-known project was creating a website documenting Eucharistic miracles from around the world, demonstrating how technology can be used to inspire faith and bring people closer to God. Carlo was also known for his compassion, generosity and care for those who felt lonely or overlooked.
As members of Acutis House, students are encouraged to follow Carlo's example by living their faith with courage, using their gifts to serve others and showing kindness, compassion and generosity in all they do.
Serving Others with Compassion and Justice
Chisholm House is inspired by Caroline Chisholm, a compassionate leader who devoted her life to supporting people in need. Born in England in 1808, Caroline later settled in Australia where she recognised the challenges faced by newly arrived immigrants, particularly women and families.
Driven by a deep sense of compassion and justice, Caroline established shelters, found employment opportunities and provided practical support that helped thousands of people build safe, hopeful and successful new lives. Her work reflected a belief that every person deserves dignity, opportunity and respect.
As members of Chisholm House, students are encouraged to follow Caroline's example by showing kindness, promoting fairness, serving others with compassion and helping to build a welcoming and inclusive community.
Growing Through Faith, Leadership and Community
Goold House is inspired by Bishop James Alipius Goold, a visionary leader who helped establish and strengthen Catholic education in Victoria. Born in Ireland in 1812, he arrived in Australia as an Augustinian priest and became Melbourne's first Catholic bishop in 1848.
Bishop Goold believed deeply in the power of faith, education and community. Through his leadership, he established churches, schools and partnerships with religious orders, ensuring that Catholic education became accessible to young people throughout Victoria. His vision and dedication laid the foundations for many Catholic schools and communities that continue to flourish today.
As members of Goold House, students are encouraged to follow Bishop Goold's example by leading with integrity, building strong relationships, serving their community and working together to create a welcoming and faith-filled school where everyone can flourish.
Leading with Faith, Courage and Compassion
MacKillop House is inspired by Saint Mary MacKillop, Australia's first saint and a courageous leader in faith and education. Born in Melbourne in 1842, Mary dedicated her life to ensuring that every child, regardless of their circumstances, had access to education and opportunities to flourish.
Together with Father Julian Tenison Woods, she founded the Sisters of Saint Joseph, establishing schools and supporting families throughout rural and disadvantaged communities across Australia. Mary's unwavering faith, perseverance and commitment to justice transformed countless lives and continue to inspire Catholic education today.
Her words, "Never see a need without doing something about it," remind us that faith is lived through action.
As members of MacKillop House, students are encouraged to follow Mary's example by showing compassion, standing up for what is right, serving others with humility and leading with faith, courage and hope.
